Learn how to interpret the health and usage data from your Litter-Robot 5 Insights Bundle using the Whisker app, so you can spot trends and act on what matters.

Quick answer

Open the Whisker app, tap the Insights tab, and review the daily and weekly charts for weight, visits, and litter box usage. Focus on sudden changes or patterns that last more than two days.

What the Insights Bundle tracks

The Litter-Robot 5 Insights Bundle records your cat's weight, visit frequency, duration, and litter box usage history. It also logs cycle events and any errors. The data is stored in the Whisker app and updated after each cycle.

When a change matters

A single spike or dip is usually normal. A trend that persists for three or more days — like a sudden drop in visits or a steady weight loss — may warrant a vet check. The app does not diagnose; it provides signals for you to investigate.

How to read the data in the Whisker app

  1. Open the Insights tab: Launch the Whisker app and tap the Insights tab at the bottom of the screen. You will see a dashboard with daily and weekly views for each cat registered to your Litter-Robot 5. If a cat is not appearing, make sure its profile is linked to the unit in Device Settings.
  2. Review weight trends: Tap the weight chart to see each recorded weight over time. Look for a gradual change of more than 5% over two weeks. A sudden drop or gain in one day is often a misread — check that the cat stood still on the scale. Weight readings can be off if the cat steps on mid-cycle or if the unit is on an uneven surface.
  3. Check visit frequency and duration: The visits chart shows how many times your cat entered the litter box each day and how long it stayed. A cat that visits more than 6 times a day or stays longer than 5 minutes repeatedly may be signaling a urinary or digestive issue. Compare against your cat's own baseline, not a general average. Every cat is different.
  4. Monitor cycle and error logs: Scroll to the Cycle History section to see when the unit cycled, how long it took, and any errors. Frequent cycle interruptions or pinch faults may mean the litter level is too low or the drawer is full. A pinch fault does not always mean a cat is stuck — it can be triggered by a clump falling into the wrong spot.
  5. Use the weekly summary for patterns: The app generates a weekly summary comparing the current week to the previous one. Focus on changes that persist across three or more days. A single odd day is usually noise. Export the weekly PDF from the app if you plan to share it with your veterinarian.
